As part of the Suzaku Pioneer Project's Three-Division Co-Learning approach, professors have teamed up with pre-service teachers to develop localized English teaching materials, known as 'English Learning Journey in Yuh Kang - The Watermelon Adventure,' in collaboration with the teachers at Yuh Kang Elementary School.

Yuh Kang Elementary School is in a rural area in Jiadong Township, Pingtung County. Most of its students come from families with lower to average incomes, and they often face financial difficulties. In response to these challenges, the school has sought help from various sources. With support from Pingtung County Government and the Ministry of Education's University Social Responsibility (USR) program, they've not only gained access to professional foreign teachers but have also introduced bilingual courses tailored to their local needs. This initiative has led to significant improvements in the English skills of students from this rural school, with their English test scores now surpassing national averages.
