【ABOUT THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR RURAL TEACHERS】

With the aim of engaging NPTU students in teaching events and volunteer services for remote areas, the team of SUZAKU PIONEER Project establish the credit program, 'The professional development program for rural teachers'. Students taking this program are expected to gain practical teaching experiences and acquire richer knowledge beyond ordinary courses. In future career, they are more likely to stand out with this second specialty in education career. The program is designed to meet the demand of teacher cultivation, which can be an advantage for students, who are willing to stay and work in remote areas, to apply as an substitute teacher in rural elementary schools after graduation. Students can systematically learn from basics to advanced courses. Besides, theory and pratice are equally emphasized. 

 

When to register?
The registration of the credit program, "The Professional Development Program for Rural Teachers", usually will be opened during October and March for each semester (depend on the regular announcement time by each programs), and subsequently closed at the end of November and March. Students can follow the website of the program for more imformation and news. Meanwhile, please feel free to speak with the program advisor or assistants if you have any questions.

 

Total Credits that are required for the program: 18 (at least)
"The Professional Development Program for Rural Teachers" consists of Basic curriculum, Advance curriculum, and Overall implementation. To accomplish the program, students must take at least 2 courses for each currriculum and finish at least 4 credits in Overall Implementation.
