On August 22, 2024, a delegation from National Pingtung University (NPTU) visited Charles University in Prague. The delegation included Professor Lee Yating, Dean of the College of Education; Professor Lin Sheauwen, former Vice President; Professor Huang Yuchih, former Dean of Dawushan College; and Professor Lin Juihsing, Director of the Physical Education Office. The primary objective of this visit was to discuss collaborative teaching of EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) courses and overseas education internships. The NPTU delegation was warmly welcomed by Charles University, and they were deeply impressed by the university's rich historical and cultural atmosphere.

On the morning of the 22nd, the National Pingtung University delegation had in-depth discussions with Dr. Tomáš Gráf and Dr. Klára Uličná on various topics, including the cultural and linguistic aspects of overseas education internships for teacher trainees, primary school teacher training, bilingual education training, as well as faculty training and co-teaching for university English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) courses. During the afternoon discussion, seven administrators and faculty members from Charles University participated in the meeting, where both parties expressed their willingness to collaborate and shared project plans in areas such as academic research, teaching quality enhancement, and student exchange programs.

Special thanks go to Ms. Lan-Fen Huang and her colleagues from the Office of International Affairs for their proactive coordination, which made this meeting possible, as well as to Dr. Milan Žonca (Vice Dean of International Affairs, Faculty of Arts), Dr. Tomáš Gráf (Department of English Language, Faculty of Arts), Dr. Tomáš Klinka (Vice Dean of International Affairs, Faculty of Education), Dr. Klára Uličná (Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Education), Dr. Radek Čajka (Head of Centre for Strategic Partnership, Rectorate), Dr. Alexandr Kandaková (Head of Interuniversity Cooperation Office, Rectorate), and Ms. Adriana Kari Černohorská (Territorial Coordinator, Rectorate) for their support and participation.

This visit not only reinforced the existing academic cooperation between the two institutions but also further advanced the development and promotion of overseas education internships for teacher trainees and EMI courses at NPTU. It laid a solid foundation for future international educational cooperation between the two universities. We firmly believe that this collaboration will promote the sharing of educational resources, facilitate mutual development, and enhance students' global perspectives.
