【NEWS】Delegation from National Pingtung University visited the University of Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic, Strengthening International Cooperation in Education

On August 23, 2024, after a roughly one-and-a-half-hour drive from Prague, a delegation from National Pingtung University (NPTU) consisting of Professor Lee Yating, Dean of the College of Education, Professor Lin Sheau-wen, former Vice President, Professor Huang Yu-zhi, former Dean of Dawushan College, and Professor Lin Rui-hsing, Director of the Office of Physical Education, arrived at the University of Hradec Králové (UHK) in the Czech Republic. The purpose of this visit was to deepen academic exchange and collaboration in education.

The delegation was warmly received by UHK, which arranged a special discussion attended by several key administrators in international affairs and college-level leadership. Participants included Mgr. Leona Stašová (Vice-Rector for International Affairs), Mgr. Janet Wolf, Ph.D. (Vice-Dean for International Affairs and External Relations of the Faculty of Education), Mgr. Jana Kostincová,Ph.D. (Vice-Dean for Science, Research and Creative Activities and Strategy, Faculty of Education), Prof. RNDr. Petra Poulová, Ph.D. ( Vice-Dean for International Affairs, Statutory Deputy Dean, Faculty of Informatics and Management), RNDr. Zuzana Kovalíková (Vice-Dean for International Affairs of the Faculty of Science), Doc. PhDr. Michal Musílek, Ph.D. ( Vice-Dean for Education and International Affairs of the Faculty of Science), and Ing. Zdeňka Kulhánková. ( Head of UHK Point; Information, Counselling and Career Centre of the University of Hradec Kralove)

During the discussion, representatives from both universities engaged in in-depth discussions, introducing their respective faculties' unique characteristics, current status, and future development visions. The discussions focused on specific areas of cooperation, such as the university social responsibility (USR) program, the Zhuque project, international cooperation in STEM education, and joint course offerings. The interaction between the NPTU delegation and the UHK team was lively, further strengthening the friendly relationship between the two universities.

In addition to the discussion, the NPTU delegation toured various UHK facilities, including the laboratories of the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Informatics and Management, and the Counseling Center, gaining a deeper understanding of each faculty's research facilities and educational environment.

Special thanks were extended to Ms. Ya-ping from the Office of International Affairs at NPTU for her assistance in coordinating the visit. This trip not only deepened the international friendship between the two universities but also laid a solid foundation for the implementation of future projects and course collaborations, further promoting exchange and cooperation in education.
